“If Central Otago was the Côte de Nuits, then Bannockburn would likely be Vosne-Romanee and I’m going to hang it right out and say that Felton Road would be the top gun, the DRC.”
Felton Road is one of the best known and most respected names in New Zealand wine and one of the 50 Most Admired Wine Brands in the World in 2026 according to Drinks International. Felton Road arguably is the most famous winery in Central Otago, the world’s southernmost wine region and home to many of New Zealand’s top-rated Pinot Noirs. Felton Road produces world class Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir from it’s Elms, Calvert, MacMuir and Cornish Point sites, and the wines display subtle differences reflecting the soils of the different sites. The wines at Felton Road are made with minimal human intervention, the vineyards are managed organically following biodynamic principles, and the wines have received widespread critical acclaim. Felton Road also has received independent certification from International Wineries for Climate Action, Sustainable Winegrowing NZ and Demeter (biodynamic methods), and is a Certified B Corporation which meets high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
We are delighted and privileged to again welcome the owner of Felton Road, Nigel Greening, to take us through a fantastic selection of Felton Road wines, including wines from each of the sites mentioned above. Nigel is an extremely popular speaker and has incredible knowledge about the wines as well as the history and terroir of Felton Road. The wines he will be presenting comprise four Chardonnays and seven Pinot Noirs, including the single block Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, focusing on current releases with some older wines for comparison. The wines are the following:
