Barolo and Barbaresco 2016 presented by Michael Palij MW
Barolo and Barbaresco 2016 presented by Michael Palij MW
The 2016 Barolo and Barbaresco vintage is universally hailed by critics as an absolute masterpiece. A long growing season with no extreme heat spikes came at a time when many prominent winemakers in these regions were coming into their own and establishing their own styles. The result has been described by Antonio Galloni of Vinous as a "vintage full of truly spectacular, breathtaking wines that captures all the pedigree that Nebbiolo and Barolo are capable of".
Michael Palij MW, a long-standing friend and supporter of the Society, will present this outstanding range of wines representing some of the best producers as well as some of the most famous ‘cru’ sites in the region such as the Montestefano, Bricco Boschis and Cannubi vineyards. The tasting presents a unique opportunity to explore the vinous delights that Piedmont has to offer.
The eight wines to be tasted are:
Orlando Abrigo, Barbaresco Meruzzano
Fratelli Alessandria, Barolo San Lorenzo
La Ca' Nova, Barbaresco Montestefano
Cavallotto, Barolo Bricco Boschis
Paitin, Barbaresco Sori Paitin
Francesco Rinaldi, Barolo Cannubi
Fratelli Alessandria, Barolo Gramolere
Roberto Voerzio, Barolo Comune La Morra
The tasting provides great value for members with tickets priced at £85 for members and £90 for guests.
If you are using the Society's website to purchase tickets for the first time, you are encouraged to register so as to make future ticket purchases even easier. The Society operates a free seating policy at tastings so if you are coming as a group, please arrive early to ensure seats together.
